As the world's population ages, the prevalence of multimorbidity, defined as the presence of two or more chronic conditions, is increasing, affecting one in three people worldwide. Multimorbidity is a major public health challenge, leading to increased healthcare costs, reduced quality of life and socio-economic inequalities. Environmental factors such as air pollution, poverty and urbanisation play a significant role in multimorbidity risk. This study aims to develop a predictive model that identifies key environmental determinants of multimorbidity in older adults. By creating a composite environmental index, this research will inform preventive strategies and interventions for healthy ageing in diverse neighbourhoods.
