The Global Burden of Disease Study (2019) estimated that approximately 50% of the population suffers from one or more dental conditions. Next to the global burden, oral diseases and general health have similar causal pathways through shared risk factors and thus affect each other bi-directionally. There is a significant gap in our understanding of the association between oral diseases and multimorbidities. Hence, this study will bridge the knowledge gap between multimorbidity, and oral conditions. This project will explore the role of health literacy in multimorbidity associated with oral conditions, thereby providing valuable insights into its influence on complex medical conditions.
