We will perform taxonomic profiling using tools like MetaPhlAn and functional analysis with HUMAnN to identify microbial taxa and pathways associated with CVD in the elderly population. Findings will inform follow-up animal experiments in aged mouse models to evaluate whether specific microbial interventions can modulate systemic inflammation and improve cardiovascular outcomes in aging hosts. The goal is to understand how the gut microbiome contributes to cardiovascular health during aging and to explore potential microbiome-targeted strategies for promoting healthy longevity. All data will be used strictly for academic research purposes and in compliance with ethical and legal regulations.
