We will investigate how metabolic and lifestyle factors (obesity, dyslipidemia, blood pressure, glycemic status, smoking, alcohol, diet, physical activity, mental health) shape the prognosis of chronic liver disease (CLD) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in Lifelines. Using prospective cohort data with repeat assessments and registry linkage, we would model incidence, progression, and survival applying causal inference and competing-risk approaches. We will derive prognostic scores, assess dynamic changes in exposures, and explore cardio-metabolic comorbidities. Findings aim to verify risk stratification, identify modifiable targets, and inform precision prevention and clinical decision-making for healthy ageing.
