The project aims to reproduce and extend analyses of the Dutch Microbiome Project by investigating associations between gut microbiome diversity, functional profiles, and selected phenotype factors such as age, body mass index, and lifestyle variables. The work focuses on taxonomic and functional diversity metrics, multivariate community structure, and statistical relationships between microbiome variation and host characteristics. All analyses will be conducted in a non commercial academic context using established bioinformatic and statistical workflows to ensure transparency and reproducibility. The findings will contribute to a better understanding of factors shaping the human gut microbiome.
Dit project heeft als doel de analyses van het Dutch Microbiome Project te reproduceren en uit te breiden door associaties te onderzoeken tussen darmmicrobioomdiversiteit, functionele profielen en geselecteerde fenotypische factoren zoals leeftijd, body mass index en leefstijlvariabelen. De studie richt zich op taxonomische en functionele diversiteitsmaten, multivariabele structuur en statistische relaties tussen microbioomvariatie en gastkenmerken. Alle analyses worden uitgevoerd in een niet commercieel academisch kader met transparante bio informatische en statistische methoden. De resultaten dragen bij aan een beter begrip van factoren die het menselijke darmmicrobioom beïnvloeden.
