New figures on diabetes in the Netherlands

To gain more up-to-date and continuous insight into the prevalence, risk factors, and progression of diabetes in the Netherlands, the Diabetes Fund has entered into a strategic collaboration with the Netherlands Cohorts Consortium (NCC). The NCC brings together population-based cohort studies that provide rich and diverse health data across the Dutch population. Through this partnership, the NCC will support the Diabetes Fund in delivering reliable national figures ("NL numbers") and in conducting more in-depth analyses related to type 2 diabetes. These analyses may include trends in (pre- and undiagnosed) diabetes, identification of risk factors and high-risk groups, complications of diabetes, and the potential impact of policy or preventive interventions. This collaboration aims to contribute to more targeted research, better policy development, and ultimately, improved diabetes prevention and care in the Netherlands.
