The exact impact of childhood obesity on the body is still unclear. Therefore, the databank of Lifelines will be used to investigate the effect of increased bodyweight in children on their body composition. Physiological parameters of lean-weight children will be compared with parameters of overweight children.
The results of the obesity-related physiological analysis will be used to inform a computer model. This computer model can simulate the effect of childhood obesity on drug distribution and elimination. With the virtual population of children with obesity, estimations will be made to determine the correct drug dosage for this special population.
