Background: Mental health problems impact well-being of affected individuals and their surroundings. To address this, the WHO advocates for local actions from a systems approach.
Objectives: We aim to unravel how social determinants from various levels and sectors are interrelated and associated with (inequalities in) population mental health.
Methods: We will conduct cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses to investigate clustering of social determinants of population mental health, unmet mental health needs and how this varies between regions.
Relevance: These insights can support policymakers to improve actions on population mental health. Given the impact of mental health on other domains, these efforts can contribute to the overall population well-being
