Cardiovascular diseases are often detected at a late stage when cure has become difficult and currently no easily accessible biomarker tests exist. At Y2Y, we develop detection methodology for early stages of organ damage, using urinary small RNA profiling by a proprietary quantitative NGS technology. For this project, we aim to 1) Optimize our detection algorithm in a discovery cohort of urine samples from treatment-naïve people in early stages of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. 2) Validate the technology and algorithm in a different (validation) set of urine samples for the early stage detection of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases.
