Biosamples

Lifelines offers access to longitudinally collected blood samples obtained during multiple assessment rounds approximately five years apart. Samples have been collected using various blood tubes, including K2 EDTA, septum-separated, clot-activated, lithium heparin, sodium fluoride, and EDTA tubes. From the EDTA tubes, both plasma and buffy coats were collected and stored. In addition, a wide range of chemical and haematological parameters, such as LDL/HDL cholesterol, HbA1c, and triglycerides, have been analysed. These data are available through the Lifelines data catalogue.

Add-on Studies

The costs for additional studies are tailored to the specific design and requirements of each project. Key factors influencing costs include the size and composition of the study population, the collection protocol, and any logistic or technical requirements. In addition, Lifelines offers project support services to facilitate participant engagement, questionnaire development, and biomaterial handling. Costs for these services depend on the scope of the project and the level of support required.

For a rough cost estimate of your desired additional assessment or support services, you can contact the Lifelines Research Office.
